CRYPTOPSY: New Album Will Turn Some Heads
May 24, 2004Canadian death metallers CRYPTOPSY have posted the following update on their official web site:
"Hello friends, hope all of you are well. CRYPTOPSY would like to thank you for your patience and your fidelity. There have been lots of factors thrown our way making it very hard to give you concrete news and updates regarding the recording and release of the new album. The only news we can tell you for now is that it is written and it's going to floor you. The music along with Lord Worm's lyrics will definitely turn some heads. The plan is still to record with Pierre Remillard ('None So Vile', 'Whisper Supremacy', 'And Then You'll Beg', 'None so Live') at Wild Studio in St-Zenon, Quebec. When? Hopefully soon.
"But in the meantime we are dying to see you guys and play shows with the Worm himself. We will start by playing in Canadian festivals, on the 10th of July in Sept-Iles and on July 12th in Ottawa. On the 18th of July we will have the pleasure of attending and playing at the Dom Famularo and Friends' Drum Day Benefit in Rhode Island, USA. The band will be playing a few songs followed by a drum solo by Flo Mounier and possibly a drum piece with both Flo and Derek Roddy from HATE ETERNAL.
"The band is also planning some tours for the end of summer and in the fall as well. The set for all these shows will include some material from every album and 'None so Vile' played in its entirety. Quebec City and our hometown Montreal have just been confirmed for October 8th and 9th respectively, as well as our participation to the Trois-Rivieres Metalfest IV on November 6th.
"Some new photos with the current line-up have been released on the web site and others will follow as well as on webzines and magazines with interviews, as the band re-emerges onto the scene. We will keep you updated on the events to come on a regular basis and are planning interactive features for the site.
"For you Canadian fans look for Flo Mounier on the cover of Drums Etc magazine for the May-June issue with Ange Curcio (ERIC LAPOINTE/JONAS),in your local music stores. Also, Flo will be featured on a sports television show called 'Adrenaline' on CBC French network Radio-Canada, on June 26th at 4:00PM. The idea behind this TV show is to discover people that perform at high physical levels in their career outside the sports world.
"We thank you again for your continued support and hope to see you soon on tour, keep it extreme."
